Meet the Author
Hi! I’m Carissa.
My love for reading and writing began when I was a toddler, sitting in the backseat of my mom’s car, begging her to read every sign we’d pass. As I got older, I would stay up late reading under the blankets with a flashlight and writing stories and poems in my spare time. I loved reading and writing so much that I earned a BA in Communication and English from UConn, followed by a MA in Communications through SNHU!
As a neurodiverse introvert, I always wanted to better understand the world around me. I took classes to learn more about how others live and why they do the things they do. I started a radio show at WHUS Radio to provide myself an outlet to listen to world music and learn more about cultures. I eventually tried podcasting under the theme of human rights, thinking maybe that would be the right avenue to explore more.
When I hit burnout from figuring out how to be an adult, I lost my interest in doing things I once adored because I associated them with working. However, I couldn’t fully get writing out of my heart. My hope with this blog is to reinvigorate my passion for learning and writing and to hopefully come up with enough content to one day publish a book!
When I’m not writing for the blog, you can find me spending time with close family and friends, diving into true crime documentaries, listening to podcasts, reading fiction books, or curled up with my emotional support cat, Katy.
